FAN(ATICISM) VS CONSUMER

30 Jun 15

I remember not long ago some fucking idiot fanatics of a sports team attacked and beat this other person because he was a “fan” of another team. This subject right here has been something I’ve wanted to speak on for a long time. So many idiots are delusional about what a fan really is, I’m about to break this shit down hardbody.

A fan is short for fanatic, which basically means you are an obsessive individual. That’s a problem, first of all your dumb ass likes to go around saying “my and our”.

Son you neither play for, coach, nor own the team, so off the top stop saying “yours or ours”. Secondly anytime you do stupid shit like name kids after teams, marry someone named after a team, or get a fucking team tattooed on your body, you’re a nimrod point blank.

I’ve seen firsthand how being a fan(atic) can lead to fights in bars, arenas, stadiums. Things being said like “Why are you wearing that jersey” answered with “Because, I want to, what are you going to do about it”.

Before you know it you have dickheads smashing bottles over heads, guys/women being tossed across the room like it’s an MMA event without the cage. Worse yet someone being paralyzed because of who they like and choose to follow, that shit is fucking stupid. I can’t use enough four letter words to describe how I feel about it.

On the other side you have the consumers, the category I hope more people fall into. These are the people that see sports for what it is, an outlet, a break from the day to day grind.

They follow teams, might even love them, but they don’t put their heart and soul into the team. They are the ones that can watch it or not watch and be perfectly fine to do so. They are the types that realize wait that player is getting paid millions to play a game not me, I’m not sweating that. My life is going to go on regardless win or lose.

Those are the sensible people that don’t worry about whether you are upset that the team they root for beat your team, or that they are on tv more. They just enjoy what they enjoy and press the forward with their lives. That’s the difference to me between Fan(aticism) Vs Consumer, you can agree or disagree all you want, but……

That’s my Word!!
