Does this word give you pause? Does the image make your cringe with terror? Or are you too steeped in the tradition of the word, to even question it? I despise the word with every being of my fiber, and yes I intentionally said that quote backwards to draw more attention. I am a perfectionist, I will admit it, and I find no fault in it. I strive to be the best that I can be at whatever I attempt to do. I worked hours on end to be a better artist. I worked feverishly day and night, eating right, going to sleep at precise hours, hydrating, all in the hopes of making myself a better athlete. It worked too, I got better as an artist, I started doing things athletically that I once thought was unattainable.
The reason why this happened is because I failed, yet I got back up each time and kept coming back. Its like that kid that keeps getting beat up by the bully but will never stay down. After a while the bully will get tired because that kid is seriously getting close to landing that one punch that will change everything. So people see failure as a unit of quit, and we have plenty of people in today’s world that seek out such an avenue. It’s easier for them to say well I tried and it just isn’t meant to be. Where I see it as an opportunity to find away to overcome that challenge and forge a way forward.
Would you allow a bully to keep beating on you until you died? Well that’s what you do when you let failures get the best of you. The bully wins and now only has to let their shadow darken your light.
Don’t let the Failure bully win!!!
