Is it just me, or does it always seem that when you’re walking for either exercise or heading somewhere, people in their cars stare at you as you drive by? For myself, I’m only walking when I’m exercising, but when I get the the main highway, it’s as if I became a exercising lion in a million acre zoo. I look around, and I feel all the optic receptors on my being. You can’t hide because there isn’t any cover, and you don’t run into the street because you don’t wanna play “cat and mouse” with traffic.
Then I make the turn from the highway back into my neighborhood, and the other walkers are out and about. Some will stare you down until you acknowledge them, and the others just stare as if you are an alien from several planets that landed here to walk among them for their viewing pleasure. I always feel relieved when I reenter my house because the only eyes I see staring at me then are from the pictures. That’s a whole other ramble though.
